PETA honours Jacqueline Fernandez with the title 'Women of the Year'

PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) honoured Jacqueline Fernandez with the title 'Women of the Year' for carrying out the successful protest against the use of malnourished horses in the run of horse carriage

This year Jacqueline Fernandez kept the buzz on, with not just her blockbuster film ' Kick ' but also participating in various social activities. She protested against the owners of horse carriage along with People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), she also participated in protection of wild elephants 'Unforgettable' campaign launched by Sri Lanka Wildlife Conservation Society. Her animal savior persona, has won her the title of 'Women of the Year' from PETA.

Jacqueline met Mayor of Mumbai, Sunil Prabhu and BMC Commissioner Sitaram Kunte to look into the matter of using malnourished horses to run the carriage and sometimes they are even forced to carry more passengers than the legal age limit which leads to their permanent leg damage.

KS Panicker Radhakrishnan, Honourable Justice (Retd), Supreme Court of India (SC) has been honoured as 'Man of the Year' as he passed the landmark judgment favour of PETA India and the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI). As per the announced verdict, bulls must not be used in jallikattu, bull races, bullfights or any other type of performance.
