Since last 6 to 7 months, there was a buzz in the town about the Tamil version of the film and the filmmakers had kept a mum over the topic. But as per the recent developments, the filmmakers have a plan to get the film for South audience as well.

According to the source, there will be two versions of ' Raanjhanaa ', Hindi and Tamil. The promotion spree of ' Raanjhanaa ' has been already in a high degree. The audience will soon get to see the sneak peek of what Tamil ' Raanjhanaa ' will look like. The Tamil version of ' Raanjhanaa ' will be named as 'Ambikapathy'. Coincidentally, another film with the same name has been released many years ago starring Sivaji Ganesan in the lead. The source clarified that ' Raanjhanaa ' has entirely different concept and storyline from Sivaji Ganesan starer 'Ambikapathy'. The only resemblance between these two films is that both the flicks are the love stories.

This decision of making the Tamil version of ' Raanjhanaa ' was taken considering the facts that Dhanush has a huge fan following and enormous popularity down south and the music by A. R. Rahman can be easily styled according to the taste of south audience. It is the first film of Sonam Kapoor which will be released in Tamil as well.

The producer of ' Raanjhanaa ' Krishika Lulla also have confirmed the development regarding 'Ambikapathy'.
