If we get an equally powerful subject to deal with then I will definitely do Mardaani 2, says Rani.

Four years back, the supremely talented actress, Rani Mukerji, appeared in her last outing (before pregnancy) and gave us the spectacular film, Mardani. The movie was based on human trafficking, especially girls, and was well received by the masses. Rani’s portrayal of a badass cop, Shivani Shivaji Rao, was applauded by critics as well as the audiences. After Mardani, Rani took a break from films to spend some quality time with her family and her newborn child. Recently, at an event, Rani was asked if she had any plans for the Mardani sequel to which the actress gave a reply in a subtle way.
The actress said, "I can’t do Mardaani 2 just for the heck of it. It has to make sense to me. So, if we get an equally powerful subject to deal with then I will definitely do Mardaani 2."
"We are still looking for a good script — it is important for me to have a convincing script," Rani added.
Well, we don’t know when will the Mardani remake come out, but the actress is coming up with her new film, Hichki. In the film, Rani will be seen playing a teacher suffering from Tourette syndrome.
On Hichki, Rani had said, "I was looking for a script that would challenge and excite me, and Hichki came my way. Each one of us has a weakness that pulls us back, it could be a disability or any condition but if we just look at it as simply a hiccup, we can emerge as a winner. It won't come in the way of achieving your dreams. Hichki is built on this positive premise and I have decided to take it up."
