Real to reel: Soni Razdan to play Alia Bhatt’s on-screen mother in Raazi!

The production phase of Meghna Gulzar ’s upcoming drama film, Raazi , starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal , is going on full swing! And now cast and crew is shooting at Srinagar, Kashmir and had a shoot sequence organized at the town's Pahalgam' Government Civil Hospital! And one of the on-shoot correspondents revealed that Soni Razdan will also be playing a role in the film and as the mother of Alia Bhatt’s character! And like Alia Bhatt ’s look in the film , Soni Razdan will also be appearing on the de-glam avatar in the film!

On more BTS updates, since Alia will be portraying the character of a Kashmiri girl in the film, so as per niche both were without makeup and were dressed in cotton salwar-kurtas, to blend with the backdrop. In the Kashmir production phase also Alia shot a solo sequence in the Doodhpatri woods on the banks of the Lidder river and 70’ bus depot set was recreated to keep up to the aesthetic of the film. Indeed, despite shooting in a less dense region, security measures were taken as per protocol and not disturbing the hospital they were shooting in! Since Kashmir schedule was in the last leg, the cast and crew will be leaving for Mumbai schedule on Wednesday!

Raazi is based on the book Calling Sehmat by Harinder S Sikka and Alia’s character has layers and she essays a Kashmiri spy in the movie whereas Vicky Kaushal plays a Pakistani Army Officer and, Alia essays his wife who turns out to be an Indian Spy. And to perfect the role, both the leading actors took training workshop to work on their accent and mannerisms for the Kashmiri role. As confirmed by producer Karan Johar , Raazi will be releasing on 11th May 2018.
