Riteish Deshmukh will reportedly play the iconic character of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in his forthcoming Marathi film 'Chhatrapati Shivaji'.

Riteish's wife Genelia D'Souza will be producing this movie in association with Mumbai Film Company. The news update was confirmed by Genelia, as she tweeted "#ChhatrapatiShivaji is not just a film but a responsibility, we @mfc r excited 2 make a movie on this #GreatMaratha" [sic]
