It is a known fact that actor Shahid Kapoor ’s upcoming film Udta Punjab has landed into censor trouble. The censor board revising committee has ordered to remove all the references to Punjab from the film and hence, the makers have decided to approach Bombay High Court. In a recent media interaction, Shahid Kapoor opened up about the controversy around the film.

Shahid has played varied characters in his 13 years long Bollywood career and his film Haider was loved by the viewers. And, so he feels the audience is ready to take any content. In an exclusive interview, Shahid said, “We should treat people like adults. They know what they want to watch. Beyond a point, let’s not decide what they should watch.”

Reports suggest that the release date of the film Udta Punjab will be pushed ahead. No official confirmation regarding this update has been made. The film talks about the drugs scenario in Punjab, and features Shahid Kapoor , Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh in the leads.
