In the last four years, Shahid Kapoor has shown some unbelievable transformation in his acting skills. Started with a couple of chocolate boy roles, he proved his mettle by doing back to back offbeat roles. In his latest film ‘Padmaavat’, we saw him as the Rajput emperor but for his next, he will be seen in a completely new transformation. Kapoor will next be seen in Shree Narayan Singh’s ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’, where he will portray the role of a lawyer. But as the film will proceed gradually, the 36-year-old actor will be going back to his 20s for the movie. Shahid's character is that of a local boy from Uttarakhand. His look will be tweaked in a way to make him look like half of his actual age. Shahid will be seen in a lot of bright sweaters and jackets given that the story takes place in the winters.
The story narrates a social message of how electricity can be made available to one and all and the issue about the rising electricity bills in India. Batti Gul Meter Chalu is produced by T-Series and KriArj Entertainment. It is conceptualized by Vipul Rawal while the story, screenplay, and dialogues have been written by Garima and Siddharth.
Shraddha Kapoor who is also a part of the movie will be playing Shahid's ladylove. While in the first half, Shraddha plays a bubbly and notorious girl, she will undergo a transformation in the second half. Yami Gautam will also be seen as one of the lawyers in the film.
The movie will go on floors from this month and has been scheduled to release on 31st Aug 2018.
