Shahid Kapoor to step into the shoes of Manoj Kumar in the remake of Woh Kaun Thi?
The original film was released in 1964 and starred Manoj Kumar and Sadhana. The remake rights have been purchased by KriArj Entertainment.
Yesterday, BollywoodMDB informed our readers that Prernaa Arora’s KriArj Entertainment has purchased the official remake rights of the 1964 cult classic, Woh Kaun Thi? The film was a psychological thriller and featured Manoj Kumar and Sadhana in lead roles. Now, according to the latest news, it is reported that actor Shahid Kapoor’s name is making the rounds to play the male lead in the remake.
A source informed a leading daily, “Shahid has developed a great rapport with Prernaa Arora [one of the producers of KriArj Entertainment] in the course of Batti Gul shoot. After this project, he is committed to doing two more films with the studio. So when they bought the remake rights of Woh Kaun Thi?, he was one of the first choices to essay Manoj Kumar’s role.”
Shahid Kapoor, who has given a blockbuster in the form of Padmaavat, is currently shooting for Shree Narayan Singh’s Batti Gul Meter Chalu. After finishing his on-going film, he will be next seen in an upcoming untitled film, directed by Imtiaz Ali.
