Shahrukh Khan walked straight upwards for 800 steps by lifting Deepika, as a part of shooting sequence for 'Chennai Express'.

A very different kind of wedding custom is followed in Munnar that happens once in a year. As per this custom, the husband has to walk straight upwards for 800 steps by picking up his wife. It is said that this custom strengthens the bond among the couple. The grapevine chirped that this custom was followed by some special personalities in B-Town. Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone decided to go by this custom for the shooting of their upcoming rom-com ' Chennai Express '.
Shahrukh lifted his co-star Deepika in one of the sequences, while filming for the film was going on. SRK walked straight upwards for 800 steps by lifting Deepika. Prior to shooting for the scene, Deepika apprehensively asked SRK whether he can do this and is he strong enough. In spite of not knowing that it would involve 800 steps for the sequence, gracious Shahrukh immediately said yes.
And eventually SRK proved that he is the undisputed 'shahenshah' of romance by completing the sequence of Munnar wedding custom.
