The news of Shraddha Kapoor portraying the role of Olympic medalist, Saina Nehwal, is the talk of the town for the last few months. The film will be helmed by Amol Gupte and Shraddha has been seen taking badminton lessons to perfect her role in it. But for the last few weeks, it was reported that the film has shown no progress and might get shelved. Clearing the air and setting the baseless rumours aside, director Gupte has confirmed to a leading daily that the film’s shooting will commence from this September. In an interview with PTI, when Amole Gupte was asked if the film has been shelved, he said, “I didn’t respond to reports because I know what I am doing. It is better that the production house speaks, which is T-Series, rather than me. We are definitely going on floors in September.”
He said that he has been working on the film for last 3 years and he will not rush it. “I have already given two-and-a-half years of my life. I am used to this pace (of working). There is a lot of preparation required for this film. We are at it,” he said. He further added, “I have lived this film for two years. I have been making constant trips to Hyderabad, meeting Saina and taking notes. It was a mammoth task to make her journey into a script.”
We hope that the film starts as soon as possible and audiences get a chance to witness another masterpiece by Gupte.
