\'Judaai\', released in 1997 was the last movie of the talented actress Sridevi. After about a decade and a half, she is making her comeback with the film \'English Vinglish\', which has been produced by R. Balki. The adman-turned-filmmaker has earlier directed movies like \'Cheeni Kum\' and \'Paa\', which were critically acclaimed. But this movie has been directed by his wife Gauri Shinde.
Sridevi, in the movie, plays a simple woman who struggles to speak in English. After seeing the actress in movies like \'Chaalbaaz\', \'Mr. India\' and \'Judaai\', one can very well imagine that she must have done justice with this role.
R. Balki said, \"\'English Vinglish\' is a very special film for me because it marks the comeback of Sridevi, possibly one of the greatest performers. It was written and discussed keeping Sridevi in mind.\" He also said, \"There is a lot of struggle and lot of people in the country who are insecure because they don\'t know English. The film tackles that.\"
