The team of forthcoming film ' Saala Khadoos ' including R. Madhavan , Ritika Singh and producer Rajkumar Hirani reportedly celebrated Pongal festival together. Madhavan took Singh and Hirani at a suburban South Indian restaurant for a traditional Pongal breakfast.
Pongal is the Tamil New Year and every year it is celebrated the festival of thanksgiving for the good harvest season. The producer Hirani celebrated Pongal first time. He said "Maddy (Madhavan) had invited me and Ritika for breakfast. But early this morning, he arrived at my residence with a veshti (lungi) and he insisted that I dressed in this traditional attire. Initially I was hesitant, but now I am feeling very nice and comfortable in this," Hirani and Madhavan were wearing a Mundu and Angavastram. Ritika was also wearing traditional outfits like red saree with a gajra for the festival.
The delicacies of Pongal feast include sweet Pongal, Pongal Upma, Vegetable Pongal, Mendu Wada, Idli, Pineapple sheera and dosa. The trio relished these Pongal delicacies served on banana leaves. R. Madhavan talked about Pongal by saying that "Wish you all a very very Happy Pongal. On this day, we thank Lord Surya for the good yield. We draw rangoli, sing songs and prepare Pongal. The Pongal is made from the crops that we have grown and the thank the sun for giving us such good pongal,"
