This is why Saif Ali Khan didn’t do ‘Race 3’!
I chose to not work in the 3rd part of Race series because I didn't feel the connection with the role that was offered to me, says Saif Ali Khan.
‘Race’ franchise was already successful ever since its first instalment by director duo Abbas-Mustan just got bigger and better with its second part wherein, Saif Ali Khan played the lead protagonist in both the films. Both, ‘Race’ and ‘Race 2’ were raging hits and audiences were waiting to see Saif in its 3rd part too. Saif was offered the 3rd part as well but things didn’t go well between the producer of Race and Saif, and the actor backed out of‘Race 3’. Saif said at a press conference, "Ramesh Taurani said I'm making a completely different movie this time with a totally different story. I was offered a part but Salman Khan is the best thing to happen to anybody. He's the biggest star in the country." He further added, "I didn't feel a connection myself with the part I was offered. So, I decided to do something else."
As producer Ramesh Taurani pitched to Saif, ‘Race 3’ is completely different, where he has not only changed the entire cast of the film but it is being helmed by a new director (Remo D’Souza) as well.
On the work front, Saif will be next seen in ‘Kaalakaandi’, which is releasing tomorrow and then he has the thriller drama, ‘Baazaar’. The actor will then feature in Anurag Kashyap’s web series, ‘The Sacred Games’.
