Twinkle Khanna’s TEPK moment, spots a man open defecating on the beach!

The problem of open defecation and hygiene is not only about the lack of good infrastructure but about the mentality and mindsets of people too! This issue is rightly addressed in Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar ’s film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha which has been garnering praises and applauds all over. But, recently, Akshay’s wife-author Twinkle Khanna , shared an ironical incident on twitter where she spotted a man open defecating on the Versova Beach, Mumbai.

The actress took to Twitter and wrote:

The former actress further added:

The tweet has been shared enormously and has become the point of discussion. Mrs Funnybones is known for her witty remarks on several up to date issues. This tweet surely highlighted the fact that just building toilets is not enough, the mindsets need to be transformed too. Replying to Twinkle’s twitter post, a civic official, Kiran Dighavkar said, we have provided enough mobile toilets. Sixty-one community toilet seats have been provided inside the slums along the beach and 12 more seats will be open from next week. If need be, we can provide more toilets in the area, states a report published on NDTV . Twinkle herself updated that the toilet was just seven-eight minutes walking distance from the spot.

Another official added, “In our mass campaign, the civic body figured out the open defecation spots across the city and then installed toilets there. But what can we do, if people do not use toilets and indulge in such acts.”

So, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha part two? Well, May be!
