UN announces Aamir Khan as UNICEF's goodwill ambassador

UN announced actor Aamir Khan as UNICEF's goodwill ambassador of South Asia to promote the importance of nutrition.

United Nations Agency announced Aamir Khan as UNICEF's goodwill ambassador of South Asia in the press conference held in Kathmandu, Nepal on Thursday.

Aamir visited Nepal for a three days trip, where he attended UNICEF's programme at Pakadi village in Kapilvastu to promote nutrition plan for children on Tuesday. Next day, he paid his visit to Lumbini, birth place of Lord Buddha. And on Thursday, the Regional Director for South Asia Karin Hulshof announced him the goodwill ambassador of UNICEF for South Asian region, keeping his socialist personality in consideration.

UNICEF aims to eradicate malnutrition from the children and promote their overall well being.

During his visit, Aamir also met Nepal's Prime Minister Sushil Koirala at his residence in Baluwatar to discuss about malnutrition.
