Vidya Balan receives the Pride of Kerala award

Bollywood beauty Vidya Balan , who has won National Award for the film ' The Dirty Picture ', had now been honoured with the Pride of Kerala award, as per the report. Vidya hails from Kerala and she has captivated the viewers with her stellar performance in her movies. Her journey from sitcom 'Hum Paanch' to the silver screen is worth the praise. The actress has five Filmfare awards to her credit for the films like ' Bhool Bhulaiyaa ' ' Paa ', ' Kahaani ', ' The Dirty Picture ' and ' No One Killed Jessica ', as well as she has bagged Critics Award for Best Actress for the film ' Ishqiya '.

Non-political, non-sectarian community organization World Malayalee Council and Kairali TV awarded Vidya with this honour. The actress will next feature in the films like ‘ Kahaani 2 ’ and ‘ Te3n ’. Apart from this, Vidya will also make special appearance in Marathi movie ‘Ek Albela’, which is a tribute to Bhagwan Dada. She essays the role of Geeta Bali in this flick.
