Actress Vidya Balan is often seen in Indian attires especially flaunting gorgeous saris. Her love for saris is evident wherever she goes be it an award function or a regular Bollywood event. According to a leading daily the 'Bobby Jasoos' actor receives a lot of saris from designers across the country.

Recently the gorgeous Bollywood diva received a gift of 21 hand woven saris from one of her admirers who owns a brand of handloom saris in the south. Seeing the beauty and texture of the lovely saris Vidya felt the need to promote the indigenous craft of India. Hence the actor has decided to wear handloom saris more often and personally meet designers, weavers to understand the craft. Vidya also desires to visit a handloom factory soon to see how a design on paper is translated into the final product.

Well, this is indeed a remarkable step to promote our ethnic and indigenous cultural identity in terms of a product. Promoting hand-weaved saris will truly benefit the small scale factory owners in remote parts of the country.
