Dr. Abdul Kalam's film in the making; Not a biopic claims Sreekumar
Mollywood director Sreekumar is all set to make a film on the former president and scientist, late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

‘Vignanian’ helmed by Mollywood director Sreekumar is going to be an inspirational movie and the movie will showcase Dr. Abdul Kalam’s extraordinary work for the country. “The movie will chronicle his role in the advancement of science in the country; he took us to the heights of technology,” he says.
Further, he added, “We will also be showing incidents involving Vikram Sarabhai, Satish Dhawan, and others, and their contribution to the Defence space of our country.” Sreekumar chips in, “Kalam joined them as a junior and later, spearheaded several missions. His contribution to the Pokhran test is huge. We will basically be showing how Kalam built a stronger India.”
Though the script of the film is finalized the cast of the film will be confirmed in the upcoming weeks whereas Sab John, who has written films like Gunaa, is giving it the final touches. “We will lock the cast and crew within two weeks. The film will be shot in Tamil but released in other languages as well. We are looking at screening it first in international film festivals,” signs off Sreekumar.
Kalam’s grandson, Saleem, is also on board. Also, the film is not a biopic as per Sreekumar.
