Thalapathy Vijay caused an uproar on the internet. The Tamil actor, who was most recently seen in 'Varisu', debuted his Instagram recently. The actor quickly surpassed the 1 million follower threshold on Instagram and now has surpassed 6 million followers, making him one of the fastest-rising popular stars on the network.

The actor apparently gained 1 million followers just 99 minutes after signing up for the social media site. According to sources, BTS' V, also known as Kim Taehyung, acquired 1 million followers in 43 minutes, followed by Angelina Jolie in 59 minutes.

Thalapathy Vijay made it into the top three on Sunday, April 2 2023, after gaining over 1 million followers in just 90 minutes. On Sunday, he also published his first Instagram message. He captioned his debut image on the platform, "Hey Nanbas and Nanbis (sic)," while sporting the salt-and-pepper style.

The actor had been communicating with his fans through Twitter, where he has over 4 million followers, before making his Instagram debut.
