Susi Ganesan

Susi Ganesan is a veteran director, screenwriter and a producer who mainly works in the south Indian industry. Born in Madurai district's village Vanivelannpati, in a Tamil family, Ganesan has derived his screen name from his parents' names Sittappa and Subbiah. The talented director has done his graduation from the Madras Institute of Technology. He has a bachelors degree in automotive engineering. He was a freelance journalist in his college days and his articles used to get published in Ananda Vikatan. He worked as an assistant director with the great director Mani Ratnam during the shoot of 'Bombay ','Dil se ','Iruvar' etc. He has made his directorial debut through a Tamil film 'Virumbugiren'. The story had a social message too. This film was screened at the Kuala Lampur World Film Festival in 2003 and has received many awards. Later he directed many hit Tamil films.

Currently Ganesan is busy in a film 'Shortcut Romeo ' which will be his directorial debut in Hindi. This film is a Hindi remake of his film 'Thiruttu Payale' which was released in 2006. 'Shortcut Romeo ' has a star cast as Neil Nitin Mukesh , Puja Gupta and Amisha Patel . The film will be released on 5th April 2013.
