Bigg Boss OTT 2: Jiya Shankar Discloses That She Hasn’t Spoken To Her Father In 20 Years; Says ‘He Has Another Daughter…’

In a poignant exchange with Elvish Yadav in the garden area, just before her departure, Jiya opened up about her father. Elvish inquired whether she hesitated to converse with her dad, to which Jiya responded that her father had never made an effort to stay updated on their well-being during their formative years. However, she added that this lack of connection no longer holds significance, as they have confronted and conquered numerous challenges, emerging stronger. Jiya also disclosed the moments she finds herself missing her father's presence in her life. "No we haven't spoken to each other. I don't even know where he is, what does he look like, or have heard his voice. I haven't spoken to him in the last 20 years and there is no contact. He has another daughter from his second marriage. He has a wife and a daughter. He has moved on in life. Why will he bother about us now?"

She expressed her longing for her father, admitting that they had not met for a considerable period of time, according to a report by ETimes. During her stint on the show, Jiya had revealed that her surname did not originate from her father's side, and she held no emotional connection with him. “When I see other families together. Sometimes when an elderly person says something to me and I'm unable to express or react I feel his absence. When I was a kid and if anyone would ever say something to me, I would run to my father and complain and he would take a stand for me. He was very protective towards me. Whenever I feel unsafe or if I'm not able to give it back to someone, I miss him a lot,” she said.

Jiya's exit occurred during the episode aired on Tuesday, following a voting process that found her with the least number of votes. The elimination method involved a contestant flipping through a calendar's pages, and the unfortunate page revealed Jiya's picture, marking her as the chosen contestant for eviction.
