Varsha Usgaonkar is a very famous Marathi actress who has also acted in a number of Bollywood films.

Varsha was born in Goa, and is also known as Rani Lakshmibai. In 1990's she gave her major Marathi hits : Lapandaav, Aflatoon, Gadbal Gotala, Sawat Majhi Ladki, Navari Mile Navryala, Dhumakul, and others. varsha has played the lead character in two Hindi films : Ghar Aaya Mera Pardesi and Pathreela Raasta. Neither of the two got a good response.

In the Aamir Khan starrer Mangal Pandey (2005) and Antara Mali's Mr Ya Miss (2005), she appeared in enduring roles. She played actress Hrishitaa Bhatt's mother in Faisal Saif's Jigyaasa (2006).

She put down the Telivision Industry after 1990's. She was seen in Marathi TV shows like Aakash Zep and Eka Mekansathi, and Hindi TV serials like Alvida Darling, Tanhaa and Anhonee. Varsha gained popularity only after playing the character of Uttara in Mahabharat.
