Jisoo starrer K-drama Snowdrop to release on Disney+ Hotstar on February 9
The series marks BLACKPINK member Jisoo’s debut in K-drama.
K-dramas have been gaining huge popularity outside their targeted market. India also holds a major fanbase for popular Korean dramas and pop bands like BTS and BLACKPINK. Also, Korean shows are some of the most popular shows on streaming platforms, primarily on Netflix. Even the Korean reality series Singles Inferno (2021) has been a frequent staple of Netflix’s Top 10.
Now, Disney+ Hotstar announced on Monday that the platform will soon stream the popular K-drama Snowdrop (2021) starring Jung Hae-In and BLACKPINK member Jisoo. The platform will release one episode each week of all 16 episodes of the series. The first episode will be released on February 9.
Snowdrop (2021) is a period drama that follows Eun Yeong-ro (Jisoo), a student at a women’s university in Seoul. Her life suddenly changes when a strange man (Jung Hae-In) arrives at the university covered in blood. The two fall into a forbidden love that puts them both at risk thanks to a dangerous secret that threatens the country.
The show is the first K-drama debut for Jisoo. It is written by Yoo Hyun-mi and directed by Jo Hyun-tak, who previously worked together on the series Sky Castle (2018).
