Many films in India get released on Friday but not on another weekday. For this week, three films will be released on the same day, November 4 Friday. Because on Friday, the initiation of the weekend. It is a most awaited escape for several people. Does the same reason apply to filmmakers?
A theory also suggests that the films were released on Friday to make the office day a half day. The movie release o Friday is a pattern adopted from the 1950s. The first film following the pattern of Friday's release was Asif's Mughal-e-Azam. The film was released on Friday, August 5, 1960. On the same Friday, the Hollywood film 'Gone With The Wind.' This film has influenced and set trends in the film industry worldwide. The film received great success and a box office collection.
Filmmakers also keep in mind the holidays for their film release. Friday initiates the weekend. The day after Friday is Saturday and Sunday. These days, many people have holidays and are off to their offices. So when people catch time, enjoy themselves and watch movies.
For example, on Diwali, Ram Setu starring Akshay Kumar, and Thank God starring Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra, were released on Tuesday, a Diwali holiday. And films received a massive box office collection through this holiday release.
