After making his debut in the film, Ekk Deewana Tha (2011), Prateik Babbar became every girl’s crush. Fans admired his chemistry with British actress Amy Jackson, who was the film's female lead, and the two became the hot new thing. Several hearts were shattered when the pair began dating in 2012, and made headlines for their romance. But their relationship did not last long and they decided to end it. Prateik has now disclosed in a recent interview how his break-up with Amy triggered a terrible period in his life.

Prateik revealed in a recent episode of Mashable's The Bombay Journey about Ekk Deewana Tha and what it meant to him that it was with this film that he truly felt like an actor. It did not, however, promise simply good fortune for him. He stated, “It was a good film. But then I fell in love with that woman (Amy) and it just went haywire. And that just… how do I put this in simplest way… I think the bad phase began when I experienced heartbreak there. Heartbreak at 25 years old just hits different. Phir main gayab hogaya (Then I completely disappeared).”

After his relationship with Amy ended, Prateik felt a great deal of sadness. He was apparently depressed, and he has since admitted that it was the start of a bad period for him.

Prateik went on to marry Sanya Sagar, while Amy married George Panayiotou and had a child with him. They are no longer together.

On the work front, Prateik Babbar will be next seen in Akshay Kumar starrer Bachchhan Paandey alongside Kriti Sanon, Jacqueline Fernandez and Arshad Warsi.
