Gayatri Joshi

Gayatri Joshi is a well known actress and model. She was born on 20th March 1977 in Nagpur. She went to Mount Carmel High School in Nagpur. When her family shifted to Mumbai, she went to J.B. Vachha School and then completed her further studies from Sydenham College. While she was in college, she did modeling assignments for brands like Godrej, Bombay Dyeing, Ponds, Philips and Hyundai. Gayatri holds a bachelors degree in commerce.

Gayatri took part in 1999 Femina Miss India beauty pageant and was selected as the five final contestants of the competition. She also represented India at the Miss International beauty pageant held in Japan.

Besides appearing in various advertisements, she was featured in some music videos too. She was seen in Jagjit Singh's 'Kagaj Ki Kashti' and 'Jhanjaria' by Hans Raj Hans.

Gayatri's first and only bollywood film is 'Swades' by Ashutosh Gowariker. The film also featured Shah Rukh Khan. The film could not do well at the box office but the concept of the film and Gayatri and Shahrukh's performance was well applauded by the critcs as well as audiences.

Gayatri got married to the MD of Oberoi constructions Vikas Oberoi in 2005. The couple has two sons.
