One Line Review: The movie is a failed attempt to horrify the audiences with a weak story line, mild thrills and develops too slowly. Positive Points: Bright display of scenic locations of Fiji; a brave and fresh move to create thrill without the dark lighted night scenes unlike other movies of same genre; performances of all characters Negative Points: Immature direction of photography; Story and script are too vague and goes haywire; no horrifying element; predictable suspense; too stretched screenplay; some violent scenes Plot: This is a story about a romantically involved happy couple - Sam and Sheena. It all begins when Sam Arora arrive Fiji to spend some days with girlfriend Sheena. But then he loses his phone right after his arrival. Sam buys second-hand 3G pone from a shop. With this, begins the horrifying experiences like getting video calls of unknown girl, receiving MMS video of the brutal murder of the same girl, sighting spirits here and there etc. Before Sam could have shared these things with Sheena he falls prey to the spirits as he notices a sudden changing behavior in himself. He starts behaving as if having a split personality. He starts attempting weird things, even attempts killing his girlfriend and himself. To stop it all, the couple decides to get rid of the phone but it comes back to them even after throwing it in water, breaking into pieces, or disposing it. The couple set out trace the mystery behind the phone and from there the story begins to unfold. Will Sam ever know the reason behind his behavior? How long will Sam be able to resist this torture? Will the couple live happily ever after? Will Sheena rescue herself from the killing attempts of Sam? Direction And Other Technical Aspects: The out of focus camera shots produce an immature cinematography, The background score by Amar Mohile sometimes prove too noisy and sometimes over did, especially the sounds of tides in first scene of the movie; it is high time when directors Sheershak Anand and Shantanu Ray Chhibber realize that some horrifying ugly destroyed faces will not create horror, the makeup is below average; First half, especially the love angle of the couple does not create a grab or involvement and is loosely edited though improves in second half. The story would have fitted a one hour serial rather than a 2 and a half hour feature film; Illogical song sequences do not compliment the situation. A new attempt but repeated ways to create thrill. But an unlinked beginning and ending proves vague. Even the message given at the end is not what the film shows. Performances: The only thing to look forward is the performance of the artists. Neil Nitin Mukesh excellently acts out every single scene with numerous expressions. Sonal Chauhan in second half gets some scope of acting and executes it quite nicely. The two also success to crack a great chemistry as the film develops, especially in the second half. Ashish, who plays Mong Hayward impresses in his short appearance. Final Verdict: If you are looking forward to watch some good character performance and a fresh take on supernatural thriller, watch '3G'.
