One Line Review : An Adrenaline Booster Action For The First time in Bollywood Positive Points : Action Choreography, Cinematography, Sharp and Flawless stunts Negative Points : Average Direction, Unnecessary Placement of Songs, Make up, Attire, The Unnatural feel throughout the movie Plot : The story runs in the background of North India. Captain Karanvir Dogra (Vidyut Jamwal) is a commando with 9 Para Commandos on The Indian Army. One day, during his regular practice session, his helicopter crashes into the Chinese territory. He is detained and tortured there for a year due to the unwillingness of the Indian government to handle the case. The careless politicians are unwilling to free him fearing the political hostile response. But Karanvir eventually escapes from the Chinese border and manages to come back to the Indian territory. During his stay at Dilerkot, he runs into a fire brand beauty Simrit Kaur (Pooja Chopra) who is running away to avoid the forceful marriage with the local small -town goon Amrit Kanwal Singh aka Ak74(Jaideep Ahlawat). Ak74 is a politician and an immoral person who wants to marry Simrit for some political achievements. He thinks that marriage will get him some respect in the society. Simrit pleads with Karan to save her from these goons. Karan decides to help Simrit for a patronizing reason of social wellbeing and from there on the game of cat and mouse begins for the goons and the couple. During a chase, the couple gets cornered by Ak's thugs and the couple manages to jump from the Andheria bridge into a fast flowing river. The river carries the duo into a deep forest where Karan listens to Simrit's story. He promises to help her till the end. Karan decides to move from the Jungle way as moving to the highway will bring more risk. Here, Ak decides to get Simrit back and wants to kill Karan any how. The game of chase now shifts into the deep dark forest. Will Karan be able to save Simrit from AK's clutch? Will Karan be able to free the town people from AK's frightful clasp or will AK continues to scare the poor timid public of the town? What will be Karan's future in the Army? Direction and Other Technical Aspects : Director Dilip Ghosh played a safe game by choosing a script like this. But he could not do a full justice to it. The action sequences are first time tried in the Bollywood but there is no originality in them. Almost all of them are derivatives of the Hollywood films. The script is average as well. Vidyut Jamwal gives 100 percent justice to his character in the movie. For the people who don't watch Hollywood films, this film is a perfect adrenaline rush for them . Dilip Ghoshcould have avoided the inclusion of some unnecessary songs in the movie which are needless for such an action packed movie. Cinematography by Sejal Shah is just amazing which captures the beautiful locations and gives you a feel of an expedition ride. The Santa-Banta jokes told by AK ads a little laughter. But the director fails to create the natural feeling in the movie. All things seem artificial and made up. The director also fails to pay the attention to the details of characters' makeup and attire. Performances : Vidyut Jamwal carries all the show on his strong shoulders. In short we can say is Vidyut's action speaks more than his words. His power packed , flawless and extraordinary stunts literally gives you the goose bumps. For them who did not watch the Hollywood films, Vidyut's action stunts are an absolute delight for their eyes. Pooja Chopra is pleasant and adorable. But her acting is average. And here comes the baddie, Jaideep Ahlawat who looks devilish , mean and menacing without an effort. Jaideep has proved his acting abilities in 'Gangs Of Wasseypur' before and this time too, he does his job well. The villain portrayed by him is maniacal who literally makes you hate him without trying too hard. But all we can say 'Commando-A One Man Army' is indeed a one man show. Undoubtedly, it is Vidyut Jamwal who steals all the show. Music : One does not pay much attention to the music in such a kind of action movie. The songs are not that catchy and placed needlessly in the movie. The music does not stay in your mind, only action does. Final Verdict : 'Commando-A One Man Army' is an outright Vidyut Jamwal's film. Watch it for the Hollywood style stunts.
