Sanju Atre (Emraan Hashmi) is a slacker, a safe and professional robber. Sanju lives with his loud Punjabi wife Neetu (Vidya Balan) and the couple lead a very lavish lifestyle. Neetu is the one, who loves dressing in a bizarre way that does not fail to grab anyone\'s attention. Sanju has snatched so much cash from the robbery that the couple can easily afford to sit idle at home without doing anything for livelihood. One day, Sanju receives a call from his ex-colleagues Pandit (Rajesh Sharma) and Idris (Namit Das) regarding some work. Both of them ask Sanju to meet them at Andheri station at 12.30 am. Pandit and Idris narrates the plan of robbing a bank and stealing Rs. 35 crore. Though initially reluctant, Sanju gives a nod to this plan finally.

The trio rob the bank stashing Rs. 35 crore as per their plan. Pandit and Idris plan to hide the cash with Sanju for three and half months and after that, the cash will be divided like Rs. 25 crore to Pandit and Idris and Rs.10 crore to Sanju. Pandit rings Sanju after three months, but Sanju refuses to recognize him. Finding Sanju\'s behavior as fake, Pandit and Idris think that Sanju is behaving in this way, because Sanju does not intend to give them their share of robbed money. Pandit and Idris attempt various tactics for snatching away the money from Sanju by hook or crook. Upon this, Sanju confesses to both of them to have met with an accident and hence suffering from amnesia, a kind of memory disorder due to which Sanju effortlessly forgets the things. Because of this disorder, Sanju completely forgets the location of robbed money.

Not being convinced at all with Sanju\'s statement about the accident, Pandit and Idris kidnap Neetu. This kidnapping fail to create any impact on Sanju, as he remains wordless about money location. By keeping aside all their attempts to grab money from Sanju, Pandit and Idris shift their base to Sanju\'s house in order to catch each and every movement of Sanju. The film unrolls the further drama about Sanju\'s memory and location of money.
