The movie is based in the most magnificent and serene place which has a blend of nature with its greenery, the blue waters and the bright and blazing sunshine –  Goa. It is that place where the central character of the movie Ethan Mascarenhas, played by Hrithik Roshan, lives. Ethan, as it turns out, was a renowned magician of his time but an accident turns his entire life upside down by leaving him totally immobilized due to an injury to his spinal cord.

Currently, Ethan works as a Radio Jockey hosting a show. He uses his wit and his ability to make others ease their worries with his humor and as such he can spread cheer and magic in the lives of each and every caller. It turns to be quite difficult to imagine that a person who can so easily spread laughter in the lives of others has been left completely immobile since the last 14 years of his life. The only person who has been the centre of his life and his one and only support is Sofia D'souza – his nurse played by Aishwarya Rai.

The love of Ethan and Sofia is something so beautiful that it speaks volumes even with the silence of both these individuals. Their love remains quite strong in spite of the constant verbal spates. A major twist comes when Ethan on the 14th anniversary of his accident makes an important decision - A decision to gain control over his life. He files a petition in the court regarding the same. This decision comes as a shock to the entire world but it more so affects Sofia as this action of his creates a road block in their relation challenging their love altogether.

Along the same time, a man named Omar Siddique enters Ethan's life. Omar has just one intention in mind i.e. to learn magic from the best possible source. Ethan, hence, on one hand does everything he can to gain back the basic right of each and every individual i.e. the right to control his own life while on the other hand, he passes on his legacy of magic to Omar. The ethics, morals, kindness and cruelty involved in his mission is something that brings about a storm in the lives of all those it enfolds. The conclusion and resolution thus reached is what comprises of Ethan's remarkable journey and his victory in life.
