The gaga of controversial ‘Padmaavat’ is not yet over and Sanjay Leela Bhansali has even planned his next film. Bhansali’s latest film, ‘Padmaavat’ is till date the costliest Hindi film which is made on a total budget of Rs. 215 crores but looks like the filmmaker is in no mood to take a break. We all know what all controversies and obstacles ‘Padmaavat’ has gone through but all the pain is paying off as the movie is delivering an outstanding performance at the box office. And now, the filmmaker has another film in his mind which will be as grand as ‘Padmaavat’. According to reports, Bhansali's upcoming film will be an epic musical and will cost around 150-175 crores and the producers of ‘Padmaavat’ has shown interest to back this project as well. Almost all the films of Bhansali are grand, be it a period film or just a piece of fiction, we have never seen him compromising on grandeur.
The report quoted a source saying, “It will be yet another big-budgeted musical epic. Bhansali can’t think small — even when his films have been designed as modestly budgeted as Black and Guzaarish were, they have turned out to be massive in scale. Ideally, after Padmaavat, Bhansali would like to do something smaller. But he can’t. Viacom is already looking at a budget of approximately Rs. 150 crore to Rs 175 crore for their next film with Sanjay.”
It will be interesting to see how much time it takes for Bhansali to come up with any new film.
