He has made an honest attempt to make the viewers yawn rather than tickle their funny bone.

Welcome to the la la land where Kapil Sharma is an irresistibly handsome stud with four women drooling over him. This is a fictional land where women are so hopelessly dumb that they can be conned into believing that a black shirt looks blue when sunrays fall on it or some such dumb things by quoting poor Newton's law. This film belongs to some prehistoric era when a woman's sole aim was to trap a man to marry and men's sex appeal went up a few notches when they cheated on and lied to their wives.

Best known for his comic timing and impeccable talent of tickling people's funny bone - Kapil Sharma - has made his presence felt on the celluloid with his debut film - 'Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon'- directed by Abbas-Mustan. For anyone aspiring to be an actor, it would have certainly been a dream come true to be launched by a director duo, that has delivered blockbusters in the past. And in the film, Kapil gets to romance not one but four actresses!

I have a confession to make: I have never managed to watch a single episode of 'Comedy Nights With Kapil'. Not one. Not that I haven't tried, because hey, anything in the interests of consuming highly popular culture. But a few minutes in, Sharma's litany of tasteless, loud jabs have been too much for me to handle, and I've slunk away, defeated, every single time.

After entertaining us for years with his show Comedy Nights With Kapil, funnyman Kapil Sharma makes his Bollywood debut with Abbas-Mustan flick Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon and while the film will not join the list of cult comedies made so far, it is funny enough for a one-time watch.

The USP of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon is comedian Kapil Sharma making his much awaited big screen debut. He's the funniest man in India so naturally his first feature film should be a laugh riot. Or at least as good as his much popular show on TV, Comedy Nights With Kapil. But that's not how things turn out. This film is funny in parts but not as consistent as any of Kapil's previous works. Abbas Mustan, the director duo known for stylish action films give us a lacklustre product.

In Abbas-Mustan's Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, getting married is not just a life goal but also the solution to any problem. Be it guy dumps you at the altar, guy doesn't elope as promised or death bed-bound father sees a guy holding your hand, it all boils down to shaadi, shaadi, shaadi. Because every single woman in this film is a jobless, gullible dodo, it happens sooner than you blink.

It would be bad news for the makers of the film if one were to take Kapil Sharma's big screen debut with any degree of seriousness. Ironically, Abbas-Mustan's Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, a rough-hewn vehicle designed to extend a very, very long rope to television's number one comedy show host, wants to be regarded as a serious cinematic effort. And that is bigger than any joke that the film can throw at the audience. The obvious mismatch between aspiration and result is too glaring to be missed.

The story revolves around Kumar Shiv Ram Kishan (Kapil Sharma) who is a wealthy man (we do not know how!) and is 'accidentally' married to three women. These accidents are wrapped in the the first fifteen minutes of the film and even though they may be hard to digest, that's how the story goes. Simran (Simran Kaur Mundi), Juhi (Manjari Phadnis) and Anjali (Sai Lokur) are the three hot ladies that Kuma Shiv Ram Kishan is married to, of course with his four different names.

A supposed situational comedy, the film revolves around Kumar Shiv Ram Kishan (Sharma), a wealthy man, who is married to three different women - Simran (Simran Kaur Mundi), Juhi (Manjari Phadnis) and Anjali (Sai Lokur). But he isn't a player. He is in fact a righteous guy, who changes his marital status in order to fulfill what he believes are his moral obligations.

The world of small screen has given some big stars to Bollywood. In fact, king of romance, Shah Rukh Khan started his career from TV shows. While in recent times a lot of TV stars have tried their hands with films and failed, it is popular comedian Kapil Sharma's first shot at the glitzy world of films. Kapil Sharma is making his debut in films with the director duo Abbas Mustan's Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon. With Varun Sharma, Elli Avram and Arbaaz Khan as supporting cast, will Kapil leave a lasting impression as an actor?
