'Rajaji' is a story of a young boy who depends on his father's earnings for his living. His prinicple minded father tries to improve him, but his mother and uncle enourage his laid back attitude. His life undergoes a change when he comes across his friend who had became rich overnight after marrying a rich girl. When he reaches Bombay, he too decides to get married to a rich girls and even finds a girl, whom he thinks to be rich. However, he later realises that she is a poor gardner's daughter and decides to leave her. The girl now becomes genuinly rich and the father rejects him. How he manges to win her back forms the crux of the film.
