Alia Bhatt & Vicky Kaushal to learn Kashmiri dialect for Meghna Gulzar's next!

In a short span of time, Alia Bhatt made a significant fan base and also has admirers who believe in her talent! Over her short stint as an actor, she also chose a multiple different roles other than mainstream characters and excelled it. Her role from her upcoming film, based on Harinder Sikka’s book, Calling Sehmat, where she will be portraying a character of a Kashmir girl and be paired with one of the young talents, Vicky Kaushal, who will be playing the role of a Pakistani Rough Army officer. And now, both actors are under training to master the characters.

This war drama based screenplay would be new for the both leads but yet has familiarity in it, as Vicky Kaushal played the character of such in critically acclaimed Masaan whereas Alia also has played a nomadic and stoic character in Highway and Dear Zindagi. But for these particular roles, they were asked to join workshops to perfect the Kashmiri dialect and minor details of such terrains. The lead and supporting cast also has to tune them to a period as the theme for the movie is based around 1971’ Indi-Pak war.

The responsibility of direction has been helmed by Meghna Gulzar, who delivered 2015’ critically acclaimed crime drama film Talwar. Meghna Gulzar, except Talwar, is known for her heartfelt storytelling that can depict chaos very diligently. And since as per the initial impression goes, the characters of this film bound to enrol in some dilemma as per the period setting is concerned.
