And this is going to be the title of Deepika Padukone’s next gangster film!

Deepika Padukone is one of the biggest superstars working currently. Her last film, Padmaavat, become a major success and now, she is all set to don a completely different role. After doing some grand Sanjay Leela Bhansali movies, Deepika will next be seen in Vishal Bhardwaj’s gangster film. The film is based on the life of Mumbai's Mafia Queen of 1980’s - Sapna Didi and the actress will fill her shoes in it. While the film is about to go on floors, we know what the makers have decided to give a titled to it. There were rumours that the film might be titled ‘Sapna Didi’, but now, the latest we hear is; it will be called, ‘Rani’.

Deepika will be paired opposite Irrfan Khan and the film will go on floors in early March.

A source informed the daily, "Deepika has already started the preparation for her role of a Mafia queen and she is quite particular that she gets the tonality and body language as close to the late Sapna Didi who was once a terror for other gangsters. The shoot will begin by early March in Mumbai. After Padmaavat, her fans will love to see her in a whole new avatar of a lady don and hence she is really working meticulously to strike the right chord."

This will be Deepika’s first-ever collaboration with filmmaker, Bhardwaj and second with her co-actor, Irrfan.
