Babumoshai Bandookbaaz team is delighted with the CBFC’s verdict!

Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Babumoshai Bandookbaaz has been released with 8 minor and voluntary cuts by the new CBFC!

Nawazuddin Siddiqui ’s upcoming film Babumoshai Bandookbaaz is one of the most anticipated ones. Fans are eagerly awaiting to see their favourite star in a rowdy and wicked avatar. Nawazuddin plays a character who kills people for money. The film not only has a lot of violence but is also occupied with bold content. The dark and gruesome villainous Babu also has a romantic side which he does not shy away to flaunt in the film. Actress Bidita Bag plays his love interest in the movie.

It was natural and a given that the movie would receive an Adult certificate. But, the film was demanded 48 cuts by The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) under Pahlaj Nihalani’s headship. But now, since the board has a new chief, Prasoon Joshi, the rules have changed. The film has been passed with an A certificate with just 8 minor cuts, leaving the makers delighted!

The film’s director Kushan Nandy wrote on Twitter, “FCAT clears Babumoshai Bandookbaaz with eight minor, voluntary cuts. Despite Pahlaj Nihalani’s last letter to stop it. See you on August 25.”

Nawazuddin Siddiqui also updated: “Thanks FCAT for clearing ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz‘ with minor voluntary cuts. The film will now release with its original flavour on August 25.”

The upcoming film also stars Divya Dutta , Murli Sharma, Jatin Goswami, Shraddha Das, Jeetu Shivhare, Anil George and Bhagwan Tiwari in key roles. Babumoshai Bandookbaaz is produced by Kiran Shyam Shroff and Ashmith Kunder and written by Ghalib Asad Bhopali. The film is set to hit the theatres on 25th August 2017. Check out the trailer here:
