Bidita Bag talks about replacing Chitrangda, Nawaz breaks unconventional debate!
Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bidita Bag open up about Babumoshai Bandookbaaz exclusively in an interesting media interaction.
The much talked about film Babumoshai Bandookbaaz is gearing up for its theatrical release which is scheduled tomorrow, on August 25. BollywoodMDB also reported about the unfortunate online leak of the film. Amidst the noise, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Bidita Bag manage to promote the film with full zeal. In a recent media interaction, the duo expressed themselves to the fullest and spoke about the film and other aspects about their filmy journey.
Nawazuddin commented on being constantly termed as unconventional because of his film choices, roles and also his looks. Shedding light on it, he said, “I used to be upset about it. How can I be unconventional when 90% of the country’s population looks like me? I was never unconventional; it is the other 10%, who should be called unconventional. Even if my heroines are taller than me, it is called unconventional. In almost all Al Pacino movies, his heroines have been taller than him yet no one called him unconventional. All these are taboos. Our film industry has taboos just like our society.”
Talking about the film, lead actress Bidita Bag said, “First let me tell you that more than acting in BB, the promotional tours have been exhausting (laughs). I do love traveling and this is not my first film. I am from Kolkata, West Bengal and have done twenty-five films in Bengal.”
When asked about replacing Chitrangada Singh, Bidita quipped, “Before reading the script, I used to think that but after reading it, I was convinced that I have to play this role. You get to play such characters often. As this is an unconventional role, I consider myself lucky.”
Babumoshai Bandookbaaz is directed by Kushan Nandy and is a story of a henchman who kills people for money played by Nawazuddin, Bidita essays his love interest.
