Gully Boy: Kalki Koechlin to soon record a rap with Ranveer Singh!
Unlike Ranveer, Kalki will be seen playing an outsider in the film who comes to India and produces a song with Mumbai based local rappers.
A few days back, the ever energetic Ranveer Singh wrapped up his portion of Gully Boy. The film’s shooting is almost completed, and the makers will soon begin the post-production work. The film is based on the lives of Divine and Naezy, and there’s good news for all the rappers and Ranveer fans. Actress Kalki Koechlin, who will have a pivotal role in the movie, will soon record a full-fledged rap with Ranveer. While the Padmaavat actor has shown his rapping skills on many occasions, Kalki has also done her homework and will soon join her co-star for rapping sessions.
Giving details about it to a leading portal, Kalki said, "I listened to a lot of rap, especially to get into that zone because Ranveer and I have to sing a song together. Anand Tiwari is doing the music of the film, so he is teaching me the song."
She further added, "We did not prepare much except that we listened to a lot of rap. I started listening to Divine, Naezy, and tried to understand where this voice was coming from. My character has studied music in Berkeley, and she comes back and is producing a video, she also writes music as well," Kalki said.
Starring Alia Bhatt as the female lead, the film is reported to have actor Vijay Varma as well. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the film is bankrolled by Excel Entertainment and will hit the screens on 14th February 2019.
