JP Dutta back on directing war drama, the upcoming directorial film will be Paltan!
Sonu Sood, Abhishek Bachchan, and Arjun Rampal will be in the cast of Paltan which is directed by JP Dutta!
Bollywood has kind of stayed away from making any movies on war drama for a while and the last sort-after film was Manoj Bajpai starring 1971. It is mostly because such films not only costs a lot budget but need certain audience to fill in the theaters. But the master of war drama JP Dutta returns to the genre and decided to direct a movie titled Paltan, which will also feature star-studded star-cast to essay the tale of bravery on the battlefield. Recently and first one on board was Sonu Sood, who unveiled first look poster of Paltan, which also has the quote “Brother to my right, brother to my left, Together we stand, together we fight!"
JP Dutta has been quite off from the industry for more than a decade from his last directed film Umrao Jaan, which failed miserably at the box office. But it is good to see him back to the genre he has excelled in with directing classics like LOC Kargil, Refugee, Border, and Batwara. It would also be interesting to see how JP Dutta reinvents this genre as a lot been changed since LOC Kargil and mainly audiences are ready to accept grittier and in your face approach from the war films, JP Dutta is one person Bollywood cine goers can expect from!
Beside Sonu Sood, actor Abhishek Bachchan and Arjun Rampal are signed to be part of this war drama and they both are also excited to work in. Updates of rest of the cast will be posted on BollywoodMDB!
