Actress Konkona Sen Sharma won the Best Director Award at New York Indian Film Festival for her debut directorial A Death In The Gunj.
Bollywood’s talented actress Konkona Sen Sharma has been appreciated for her versatile roles. The lady has impressed one and all with her stellar performances in films. Konkona moved into a new realm of cinema and tried her hand at direction. For the love of her craft, Konkona Sen Sharma debuted as a director with the film A Death In The Gunj.

The film has been invited to be showcased at New York Indian Film Festival. Here Konkona’s film was highly appreciated and she won the best Director Award. This is indeed a huge honour for the actress turned director. It is encouraging for any debutante that their first film has been vividly appreciated at a large platform.
The movie stars Vikrant Massey, Tillotama Shome, Gulshan Devaiah, Om Puri, Kalki Koechlin, Ranvir Shorey, Tanuja, Jim Sarbh and others. Another Indian film that won big at the festival is Mukti Bhawan. It won the Best Film Award and garnered in total 10 awards for its multiple departments.
Written and directed by Konkona, the film is set in the town of McCluskieganj, 1979.
