Rani Mukherjee starrer ' Mardaani ' released in India on August 22, is the first Yash Raj Films with an 'A' certificate from the Censor Board. The movie revolves around the topic of human trafficking and it also received 'A' certificate from the Pakistan Film Censor Board.

However, the reports revealed that ' Mardaani ' will not release in Pakistan, as they demanded a few changes. Seven cuts were demanded as well as there was a requirement of some scenes to be blurred. These changes could not be fulfilled as it would have been a loss of the narration of the movie's essence and distortion of the movie's message, as thought by the creative team. The further news update stated that the internal discussion among the team came with a decision that ' Mardaani ' will not release in Pakistan.
