‘Padmavati’ to arrive on the scheduled date!

Toplined by some of the best talents of Bollywood – Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor – Padmavati is one of the highly awaited films of the year. Soon after the magnum opus went on floors almost a year ago, the makers announced November 17th, 2017 as the official release date of the film. But during the Rajasthan shooting schedule of the movie, some activists of a fringe group attacked the sets of the film citing some historical facts were being distorted.

When the team headed to Kolhapur in Maharashtra, it again faced the ire of a fringe group that put the set of the film on fire. After shooting of the film was put on hold twice, some reports claimed that the release date of Padmavati had been shelved. However, Viacom 18, which co-produces Padmavati, confirmed to a popular daily that the film will hit screens on the pre-decided date. “It will keep its November 17 date with the box-office,” they said.

Directed by maverick filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Padmavati features Deepika Padukone in the titular role of Padmavati. Ranveer Singh is playing Alauddin Khilji, while Shahid Kapoor will be seen in the role of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh. Jim Sarbh and Aditi Rao Hydari also play important roles in the movie.
