Having gone on the shooting floor on January 15th, the Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy has finally come to an end. Helmed by Zoya Akhtar, the film sheds light on the journey of Mumbai based underground rappers and yesterday, Ranveer wrapped the final schedule of the film. In his 8 years career, the actor has done a variety of roles but Gully Boy is definitely his most unconventional film. Yesterday evening, Ranveer announced on Twitter that the film has been completed and, in few hours, thanked its director in a chivalrous way.
His first tweet read, “FAM #itsawrap #gullyboy”. And later, the 32-years-old actor tweeted, “Bae & I made for each other I love you #ZoyaAkhtar thank you for this unique and unforgettable experience #gullyboy”
Though the shoots started in January, Ranveer had started prepping up for the same from last year itself. He had been taking rapping sessions from real rappers and had undergone a massive change for this movie.
Gully Boy is the first ever collaboration between Ranveer and Alia and talking about his co-star, he had said in an earlier interview, "Also, it’s my first collaboration on a full-length feature film with Alia (Bhatt), who I rate very high as an actor. She is certainly among the best actors in today’s day-and-age. I believe she is on her way towards greatness."
Produced by Excel Entertainment, the film will hit the big screen on Valentine’s Day next year, i.e. on 14th February 2019.
