Actor Shahid Kapoor has now moved on from the controversial cum blockbuster ‘ Padmaavat ’ and has now started shooting for his much-awaited film, Batti Gul Meter Chalu . The movie was the talk of the town for months and today, it has finally gone on the floors in the beautiful State of Uttarakhand. Batti Gul Meter Chalu is directed by Shree Narayan Singh of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha fame. The film also stars Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam as the female lead. The movie will get wrapped up in the next two and half months and it is set to hit the screens on August 31, 2018.
The film follows the issue of electricity, its unusual cost and the issue people of Uttarakhand face because of it. Shahid and Yami will be seen playing lawyers while Shraddha will play Shahid’s love interest who in the second half will have a strong role. The movie is being made under Prernaa Arora ’s KriArj Entertainment and it’s the second collaboration between Prernaa and Shree Narayan.
Meanwhile, in an interview with a leading portal, director Shree Narayan spoke about Shahid and said, "Shahid is fantastic. He liked the idea and when he met me and he agreed for the movie within five minutes. Our equation is really good. Shahid is playing a lawyer in the film."
The movie will be wrapped by April and will be shot across Haridwar, Rishikesh, Tehri, Mussoorie and Nainital.
