Shoojit Sircar is making a biopic on revolutionary Udham Singh and clarifies that Ranbir Kapoor is not a part of it!

In the last one decade, director Shoojit Sircar has delivered multiple films with each being totally different from the other. Sircar, who last helmed Piku, is coming back with October, which is an unconventional love story. While his upcoming film is just a few weeks away from release, he has started prepping his forthcoming film. After October, the director will next helm a biopic on Udham Singh who assassinated Michael O'Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab in British India in 1940, to avenge the 1919 massacre of Jallianwala Bagh. While Sircar has already signed his actors for his next film, it was reported that Ranbir Kapoor will play the lead. Well, setting all the speculations and rumours aside, Sircar clarified that Ranbir is a good friend who meets him frequently but the two are not doing the biopic together.

The Piku director told a leading news agency, “I am making the Udham Singh biopic, I'm already in the process of it, and I’ve started shooting few clips also. The cast has been more or less locked; I'll be letting it out soon... But Ranbir isn't there. We are friends, we played football together so we have meetings together. We talk about cinema and other things, but no. If something happens with Ranbir in the future, I'll let you know," he reportedly revealed.

October, that stars Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu, is slated to release on 13th April 2018.
