The shooting of Deepika Padukone's next to be pushed ahead due to Padmavati controversy?
The film will now go on floors in mid-March. The team is busy reshuffling the schedule.
It has been several weeks now, but the controversy around Deepika Padukone's much-awaited film Padmavati is in no mood to die down. The film, which was scheduled to release on 1 December, had to be put on hold due to a series of protests by some fringe groups. According to sources, the entire episode has left Deepika so stressed and distraught that it is affecting her future project, including a film with noted filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj. Reports suggest that the makers were all set to begin the film in January, but seeing the current scenario, they have reshuffled their schedule.
If latest reports are to be believed, the project will now mount floors in mid-March. "Deepika wishes to take a break before returning to the set. She wants to be mentally prepared for the film," a source says.
The source further adds, "To add to the delay, Bhardwaj has decided to revisit the script. He wants to ensure that he has everything in place before they roll."
The untitled film is based on Mumbai's mafia queen Sapna Didi and also stars Irrfan Khan in the lead role.
