Salman Khan confirms Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 in the works
Well-known screenwriter K. V. Vijayendra Prasad, who wrote Bajrangi Bhaijaan, will return to write the sequel.

Superstar Salman Khan has officially confirmed that the sequel to his much-loved film Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) is on the anvil. The Dabangg (2010) actor announced Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 at a special pre-release event of the much-anticipated pan-India film RRR on Sunday in Mumbai.
Well-known screenwriter K. V. Vijayendra Prasad, who wrote Bajrangi Bhaijaan, will return to write the sequel. For the uninitiated, Prasad is father of acclaimed filmmaker SS Rajamouli and has previously written global blockbusters Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali: The Conclusion along with Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi (2019), featuring Kangana Ranaut in the titular role.
Salman Khan, who was most recently seen in Antim: The Final Truth (2021), attended the event on Sunday to support Rajamouli’s upcoming directorial venture RRR. The film, which is set to enter theatres on January 7, stars Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn in crucial role.
During the event, Salman Khan spoke about how Bajrangi Bhaijaan is one of the best films of his career and thanked K. V. Vijayendra Prasad for writing the same. Filmmaker Karan Johar, who was hosting the event, asked the superstar, “So can we say this is the official announcement of the film?” To which, Khan responded in affirmation and said, “Yes, Karan.”
Directed by Kabir Khan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan revolved around a simple Hanuman devotee, Pawan Kumar, who meets a mute Pakistani girl who accidentally gets separated from her parents and enters India. How he goes all out to reunite the girl with her family in Pakistan forms the crux of the story.
In addition to Salman Khan, the blockbuster film also starred Harshaali Malhotra, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead characters.
