On the night of her wedding, Sulkshana Pandit visits playboy and blackmailer Ranjeet in an attempt to recover an set of love letters that implicated her sister-in-law, Farida Jalal. In an attempt to rescue herself from Ranjeet, she hits him on his head and leaves to join the wedding. Ranjeet is found dead and Sulkshana Pandit's husband, a CID officer is given the case.
