THAT GIRL IN YELLOW BOOTS is a Hindi feature film that released on 2nd September, 2011. This film has been made by highly acclaimed director-producer-writer Anurag Kashyap.Story : Ruth (Kalki Koechlin) is a British girl. Like any other British citizen, she too is fair-skinned. Her father is an Indian who had left her mother a few years ago in her country and came back to Mumbai. She wants to meet her father and if possible, take her back to her mother. For this quest she comes to Mumbai to find her missing father.Though Mumbai City has a big heart, and it gives job to everyone, there are also some people here who have made this City of Dreams selfish and cruel. She meets some people who are good towards but most people whom she comes across want to use and exploit her.To meet her daily needs she has to earn. For this purpose she is compelled to work in a massage parlour. She doesn't like many things there but she has no other option. She is exploited, abused but for the sake of finding her missing father, she tolerates everything. So what happens at last? Does she find her father? How her father reacts after meeting and knowing her purpose of coming to Mumbai? Such queries are answered in the rest of the film.Performance : Kalki Koechlin has improved in her acting skills a lot and has done well in this film. Being the protagonist of the film, she has justified her role to the fullest. As usual, Naseer Ud-Din Shah has done his part very well.Other actors are also okay especially Prashant Prakash and Gulshan Devaiya.Cinematographer : Rajeev Ravi has also captured many shots brilliantly.Script : It is written by Kalki which is okay for this kind of film.Direction : This is a film well directed by Anurag Kashyap. Conclusion : This film shows the struggle of a simple foreign girl in India. It is a well made film but doesn't have commercial values hence you should not expect huge revenues from it as return. Above all, BODYGUARD will hardly let any other film to do business for a few weeks.Verdict : If you want to see Kalki's performance as a struggling British girl and want to watch a movie of Anurag Kashyap brand you can go for it otherwise go to some Ganpati pandals instead of going to theaters to watch this film.
