Bhushan Kumar hits the jackpot with multiple successes in the first quarter of 2018!
Out of four Rs. 100 crores grossers of the first quarter of 2018, two come from Bhushan Kumar's camp.
One of the most successful film producers and head honcho of T-Series, Bhushan Kumar has hit a home run with the back-to-back success of his films in the first quarter of 2018. After having a banner year with the massive success of films such as Hindi Medium and Tumhari Sulu in 2017, Kumar welcomed 2018 with blockbuster hits Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and Raid. Not just that, his 2017 film Hindi Medium, which recently released in China, has been putting up a great show there ever since hitting theatres in the neighbouring country.
Bhushan Kumar's T-Series has been offering high-quality, content-driven films with appeal to various strata of the society. Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety joined the coveted Rs. 100 crore club recently after which Raid and Hindi Medium also followed, continuing the golden run of Bhushan Kumar at the box office. The box-office total of the romantic drama SKTKS stands at 108.46 crores till date. On the other hand, the Ajay Devgn starrer Raid too crossed the much-publicised Rs. 100 crore mark recently collecting a whopping 100.14 crores at the box office.
After the phenomenal run of Hindi Medium in India, understanding the universality of the film, Bhushan Kumar released the film in China, where it recently surpassed 100 crores collecting 138.42 crores at the box office.
Talking about the exceptional response, Bhushan Kumar said, "Whether it is the success of Hindi Medium in China or Raid doing such phenomenal business here, it only reinforces our belief that a good story is what connects with the audience. For us, the key decisions have been to pick stories that have a universal appeal. These are the fruits of those decisions and we are overwhelmed."
Bhushan Kumar's T-Series has been enjoying a golden run at the box office with back to back successes in the last two years. Out of the four films minting over 100 crores this quarter, the producer has two films to his credit with Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and Raid.
